A molecular sieve adsorbent for the purification of gas streams containing water vapor and carbon dioxide. The adsorbent is a combination of sodium form of a low-silica faujasite, having a residual content of potassium ions less than about 8.0 percent (equiv.), a low content of crystalline and amorphous admixtures and crystal sizes generally within the range of 1-4 µm, and a binder. A process for the adsorbent preparation which comprises specific parameters of low silica faujasite synthesis, sodium-potassium ion exchange, blending and granulation.
L'invention concerne un adsorbant de tamis moléculaire destiné à la purification de courants gazeux contenant de la vapeur d'eau et du dioxyde de carbone. Cet adsorbant est une combinaison d'un liant et d'une forme sodique d'une faujasite, pauvre en silice, à teneur résiduelle en ions potassium inférieure à environ 8,0 % (d'équivalents cationiques) et à faible teneur en mélanges cristallins et amorphes, les dimensions des cristaux se situant généralement entre 1 et 4 mu m. Le procédé de préparation de cet adsorbant comporte des paramètres spécifiques de synthèse de faujasite à faible teneur en silice, d'échange d'ions sodium-potassium, de mélange et de granulation.
