ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A novel process has been developed for the molecular- weight modification of polyphosphazenes. Poly(aryloxyphos- phazenes) are thermally treated in an inert atmosphere or vacuum at temperatures from 100°C. to 300°C. so as to yield materials having reduced molecular weights, improved process- ability, and enhanced thermal stability.
