Molecule-based magnetic polymers with high Curie temperature and methods of preparing are provided. In particular, magnetic polymers having repeating units of an electrondonor metallocene-containing monomer covalently bonded to an electron-acceptor monomer having a plurality of unpaired electrons are disclosed. Intrinsically homogeneous magnetic fluids (liquid magnets) and methods of preparing are also provided.
