A method for stereochemically coding a molecule by taking in the steric structure around each atom constituting a molecule, wherein atoms are classified into a group of classes, angle symbols are derived from the atom of the (n+3)-th class, the atom of the (n+2)-th class, the atom of the (n+1)-th class, and the atom of the n-th class. A symbol is given to the (n+3)-th atom being now considered, and a code concerning stereochemistry that represents the conformation and configuration of a molecule with respect to the start atom on the basis of the (n+3)-th atom. The method can be applied to, for example, chemical shift prediction of NMR. By the method, a molecule can be coded canonically in such a way that information on the steric structure environment of a molecule such as the conformation and configuration can be read by a computer.
Un procédé de codage stéréochimique d'une molécule consiste à prendre en considération la structure stérique entourant chaque atome formant une molécule, dans laquelle les atomes sont classifiés dans un groupe de classes, des symboles d'angle étant dérivés de l'atome de la classe (n+3)-ème, de l'atome de la classe (n+2)-ème, de l'atome de la classe (n+1)-ème et de l'atome de la classe n-ème. Un symbole est donné à l'atome (n+3)-ème qu'on considère alors et un code relatif à la stéréochimie qui représente la conformation et la configuration d'une molécule par rapport à l'atome de départ est établi sur la base de l'atome (n+3)-ème. Le procédé peut être utilisé pour la prévision du décalage chimique de la résonance magnétique nucléaire (RMN) par exemple. Au moyen de ce procédé une molécule peut être codée canoniquement de sorte que les informations relatives à l'environnement de la structure stérique d'une molécule telles que la conformation et la configuration peuvent être lues par un ordinateur.
