ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Safe and very good filtration of a molten metal such as molten aluminium, is efficiently obtained with the use of a molten metal filtering device which comprises a filter housing for disposal in a flow path for the molten metal, a horizontal partition disposed within said filter housing and having at least one filter-mounting hole there- through, a filter frame detachably mounted in said filter- mounting hole with the upper part thereof protruding above said filter-mounting hole, and a filter medium mounted in said filter frame at a level with the upper surface thereof dis- posed below an inflow path and an overflow path for said molten metal.
