A metal melting closed furnace (10) which includes a main chamber (26), a circulation well (28) connected to the main chamber (26) by a communications passageway and a vortex well (84) having an exit outlet for molten metal into the main chamber (26). A cover (138) is emplaced over the vortex well (84). An inert gas bubble activated molten metal pump (48) is provided in which there is an entry port in the circulation well (28) and exit port (64) tangentially arranged with respect to the periphery of the cavity. This exit port (64) will typically be at or near the top of the vortex well (84). In order to reduce oxidation, inert gas bubbles are captured from this molten metal pump (48) and are transported to an inert gas atmosphere or blanket above the molten metal vortex.
La présente invention concerne un four clos pour fonderie (10) se composant d'une chambre principale (26), d'un puits de circulation (28) relié à la chambre principale (26) par un passage de communication, et d'un puits tourbillonnant (84) comportant un orifice de sortie écoulant le métal en fusion dans la chambre principale (26). Un couvercle (138) vient au-dessus du puits tourbillonnant (84). On dispose d'une pompe à métal en fusion (48) actionnée par des bulles de gaz inerte et dans laquelle se trouvent un orifice d'entrée dans le puits de circulation (28) et un orifice de sortie (64) disposé tangentiellement par rapport au pourtour de la cavité. Pour réduire l'oxydation, les bulles de gaz inerte sont captées depuis cette pompe à métal en fusion (48) et transportées vers une atmosphère ou une nappe de gaz inerte au-dessus du tourbillon de métal en fusion.
