Abstract of the Disclosure Novel compounds of formula II (II) Image wherein R is hydrogen, a salt-forming ion or a pharmaceutically acceptable ester-forming radical, provided that R is not a group of formula -(CH2)8CO2H, or a salt or ester thereof, are disclosed and methods of preparation of them. Esters of formula (II) have antibacterial activity and are of value in the treatment of respiratory and venereal diseases and of mycoplasma- induced human and veterinary diseases.
