The invention describes perfectly defined mono- and di-derivatives of cyclodextrins, a method for their synthesis and purification, functionalized cyclodextrins obtained from these derivatives, and the synthesis of supports comprising the cyclodextrin derivatives. It also describes the use of the said supports in the preparation or separation of enantiomers, or in asymmetrical synthesis, or in catalysis or in the preparation or separation of geometric or positional isomers, or in the preparation or separation of hydrophobic organic molecules.
