Abstract of the Disclosure Monoazo pigments of the formula Image wherein A represents an aromatic radical, in particular 2 benzene radical, containing a 5- or 6-membered heterocyclic ring which contains a cyclically bonded -CONH-group. Z represents a -CO-or -SO2-group, R represents an aromatic radical. for example a naphthyl radical, but especially a phenyl radical, a chloroalkyl group or an alkoxyethyl group, X represents a hydrogen or halogen atom, an alkyl, alkoxy. alkoxycarbonyl, aryloxycarbonyl. azyloxy or nitro group, Q represents a hydrogen atom, a bromine atom or an alkyl group, for colouring high molecular organic materials in orange to brown shades having especially good fastness properties.
