This invention relates to novel monobromoalkane fire extinguishing agents. More particularly, this invention pertains to novel environmentally friendly fire extinguishing agents which contain a monobromoalkane component. A fire extinguishing mixture comprising: (a) about 2% to 25% monobromoalkane by weight; and (b) a fire extinguishing agent whose principal mode of fire extinguishing action is physical.
