ABSTRACT MONOCLONAL ANTIBODIES INVOLVED IN ALZHEIMER'S DISEASE HYBRIDOMAS SECRETING THESE MONOCLONAL ANTIBODIES, ANTIGEN RECOGNIZED BY THESE ANTIBODIES, AND THEIR APPLICATION The invention relates to a monoclonal antibody characterized by the combination of the following properties : - it forms an immunological complex with a non- phosphorylated structural epitope of an antigen released from a sonicated NFT preparation, which itself is isolated from the cerebral cortex obtained from a patient having Alzheimer's disease, - it does not form an immunologically complex with the following proteins or peptides : . neurofilament proteins . tau protein . MAP 2 protein . ubiquitin . 4-amyloid peptide, said monoclonal antibody can be used for the diagnosis in vitro of brain diseases involving neurofibrillary degeneration.
