ABSTRACT The invention relates to a monoclonal antibody F23, and its use in identifying or characterizing human renal cancer antigen. The invention is also concerned with an F23 antibody producing hybridoma cell line formed by fusing a myeloma derived cell strain and splenocytes derived from BALB/c mice immunized with established culture lines of renal cancer. F23 mAb becomes part of a screening panel for human renal cancer which includes seventeen other mAbs. These mAbs subset the normal human nephron and distinguish renal cancers. F23 is also part of a uro-panel of seven mAbs which subset the human urinary system and screen for cancers of said system.
