A monolithic optoelectronic device has a spot-size converter optically connected to a waveguide. The overclad (58) extending over the core (54) of the waveguide is thinner and more highly doped than the overclad of the spot-size converter. This structure can be made by applying a process of selective etching and enhanced regrowth to create selective regions of the overclad (58) of different thickness or doping.

La présente invention concerne un dispositif optoélectronique monolithique qui comporte un convertisseur de taille de point connecté optiquement à un guide d'ondes. Le surplacage (58) s'étendant sur le cur (54) du guide d'ondes est plus mince et plus fortement dopé que le surplacage du convertisseur de taille de point. Cette structure peut être réalisée en appliquant un processus de gravure sélective et de recroissance améliorée pour créer des zones sélectives de surplacage (58) d'épaisseur ou de dopage différent(e).
