Abstract A mooring means for retaining a pontoon at a quay independently of occasional variations in the water level, comprises at least two pillars at the side of the pontoon to be turned towards the quay. A trolley is adapted to run along each pillar, the trolley being provided with an arm which extends over the quay and is attachable to a bollard thereat. The arm comprises a strong, articulated link and a rigid bracket projecting from the trolley. The bracket is provided with a sliding piece which cooperates with a portion of the link, adjacent to the bollard, Each link may be stayed sidewardly/out- wardly by means of a wire which by way of a resilient device is attached to a further bollard.
