System for mooring a substantially cylindrical floating production, storage and offloading unit (FPSO) (2), comprising a substantially cylindrical mooring element (1) having un upper side for engaging the lower side of the FPSO, further comprising mooring lines (4) for connection to the seabed, and operating means for realising an engagement between the mooring element (1) and the FPSO (2), wherein the mooring element (1) has such a specific weight that, when disconnected from the FPSO, it floats at a certain depth below the sea level.

L'invention porte sur un système permettant d'amarrer une unité flottante de production, stockage et déchargement (FPSO) (2) sensiblement cylindrique, comprenant un élément d'amarrage sensiblement cylindrique (1) dont la face supérieure est destinée à entrer en prise avec la face inférieure de l'unité FPSO, comprenant également des lignes d'amarre (4) destinées à être reliées au fond marin et un moyen de fonctionnement permettant de mettre l'élément d'amarrage (1) en prise avec l'unité FPSO (2), ledit élément d'amarrage ayant un poids spécifique tel que lorsqu'il est détaché de l'unité FPSO il flotte à une certaine profondeur au-dessous du niveau de la mer.
