ABSTRACT A mop for polishing floors and other surfaces consists of an upper group and a lower group of pieces of non-woven textile material. The upper group consists of several cloth elements combined together and whose surface area increases from bottom member to top member of the group and each of which has fringes at its outer edges. The member of the lower group have no fringes and consist of a plurality of equal sized pieces of non-woven textile material whose areas are smaller than those that make up the upper group. The uppermost cloth piece in the upper group incorporates a central opening and two opposing pockets. A handle holder element is introduced into the pockets, and the periphery of the element and the receiving area defined by the pockets are of the same size and are in alignment with the lower group of cloths.
