ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention relates to a holder for securing the yarn of yacht mop or the like. The holder comprises a sleeve to receive in one end the handle of the mop. A base is provided which has a concave interior surface against which the yarn is to be held. A bar, one end of which is hinged to one side of the base extends centrally across the base when in closed position to securely hold yarn in the base against the concave interior surface. A socket means associated with either the bar or the exterior surface of the base receives a clinching eyelet of a flexible bundling strap which circumscribes and securely holds the yarn, when the clamp bar is in closed position, to hold the bundling strap and yarn in position in the holder. The holder according to the present invention provides an improvement over traditional secure yacht mop constructions in that it provides a construction in which only the yarn is removable, so that the yarn may be replaced as required, without the need of replacing the entire holder.
