A pulse rate sensor (101) that includes an accelerometer (108) for measuring periodic motion and a piezo sensor (106) for detecting erratic motion is capable of more accurately determining pulse rate by accounting for these types of motion. The pulse rate sensor in accordance with the present invention diminishes pulse rate signal degradation due to erratic motion through a combination of algorithms that control signal boosting, waveform refinement and signal noise suppression.

L'invention concerne un capteur de fréquence du pouls (101) qui comprend un accéléromètre (108) pour mesurer un mouvement périodique et un capteur piézoélectrique (106) pour détecter un mouvement erratique, ce capteur de fréquence du pouls (101) pouvant déterminer la fréquence du pouls (101) avec une plus grande précision en prenant en compte ces types de mouvement.
