18 A B S T R A C T Motion or force take-off device for motor vehicles. The field of the invention relates to installations for transmitting motion or power to any measuring apparatus or to apparatus requiring rotary drive. The device of the invention comprises, in conventional manner, a box frame (4), and endless belt (1) rotating over two parallel pulley shafts (2) driving an external transmission system (9). Said belt (1) and the pulley shafts (2) are of the poly-V type in order to prevent the belt slipping slideways off the pulleys or the vehicle escaping from the frame. The box frame (4) is pivotally mounted on a swivelling frame (47) which is free to swivel relative to a fixed frame (48) in order to keep the belt (1) in alignment with the vehicle wheel, either by direct adjustment or by automatic adjustment. The assembly is mounted on shock absorbers (46) and its height may be adjusted by standing it on an elevator platform. Means may be provided for regulating the speed of rotation of the vehicle engine using a tachometer (73) and a regulator assembly (23).
