ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A motion transmitting device comprises a male and a female member with meshing elements between them. In a simple construction, the meshing elements may be n balls where n is a multiple of four, the balls meshing in a wavy groove having (n - 1) or (n + 1) waves in the male member and the balls engaging also in n arcuate grooves in the female, the male member being swashed with respect to the female member and the balls lie in a median plane which preferably is at an angle to the swashing plane which is half the angle of swash. More complex configurations are described using two sets of wavy grooves, or using two concentric devices or using bearingly mounted spindles in said balls. Arrangements are also described for forming a variable angle coupling and also for forming a torque divider.
