A motor and gear unit assembly comprising a gear unit, a motor and a structural connector to which the gear unit and motor are secured, said structural connector being of a substantially elongate shape which extends substantially parallel with the rotational axis of a transmission member which interconnects the axially spaced motor and gear unit, said structural connector having at least a part which is substantially planar and which, in use, is orientated to lie in a substantially vertical plane, one of the gear unit end and motor end of the structural connector being a supported end which is secured to or adapted for securing to supporting structure and the other of the gear unit end and motor end of the structural connector being secured or securable relative to said supporting structure substantially solely by the length of said elongate structural connector between the supported end and said other of the gear unit end and motor end, wherein the motor has a primary direction of rotation, and the motor and gear unit are secured to that side of the structural connector which, in use, with the motor rotating in said primary direction, results in the structural connector experiencing a reactive torque which acts in a direction opposite to the torsional load transmitted along the length of the structural connector to the supported end due to the weight of said motor or gear unit acting at a centre of gravity position displaced horizontally from the plane of said structural connector.
L'invention concerne un ensemble moteur et boîte à engrenages comprenant une boîte à engrenages, un moteur et un raccord structural auquel la boîte à engrenages et le moteur sont fixés, ce raccord structural présentant une forme sensiblement allongée qui s'étend de manière sensiblement parallèle par rapport à l'axe de rotation d'un élément de transmission reliant le moteur axialement espacé à la boîte à engrenages, ledit raccord structural possédant au moins une partie sensiblement plane qui, en cours d'utilisation, est orientée de façon à se trouver dans un plan sensiblement vertical. L'extrémité boîte à engrenages et/ou l'extrémité moteur du raccord structural est une extrémité supportée qui est fixée ou conçue pour être fixée à une structure de support, l'autre extrémité du raccord structural étant fixée ou pouvant être fixée par rapport à cette structure de support sensiblement uniquement par la longueur du raccord structural allongé entre l'extrémité supportée et l'autre extrémité. Le moteur présente un sens de rotation principal et le moteur et la boîte à engrenages sont fixés à ce côté du raccord structural. Par conséquent, en cours d'utilisation, pendant la rotation du moteur dans le sens principal, le raccord structural est soumis à un couple réactif qui agit dans un sens opposé à la charge de torsion transmise sur la longueur du raccord structural à l'extrémité supportée du fait que le poids du moteur ou de la boîte à engrenages s'exerce au niveau d'une position du centre de gravité déplacée horizontalement à partir du plan du raccord structural.
