A motor designed for manufacturing and its method of assembly are disclosed. The motor includes lower and upper end frames with bearings, an armature assembly rotatably mounted in the bearings of the lower and upper end frames, and a winding field assembly supported between the lower and upper end frames and surrounding the armature assembly. The method includes the steps of inserting one end of the armature assembly into the bearing of the lower end frame, positioning the winding field assembly over the armature assembly while also stacking the winding field assembly on the lower end frame, stacking the upper end frame on the winding field assembly while also positioning an opposite end of the armature assembly into the bearing of the upper end frame, and securing the lower end frame, winding field assembly and upper end frame to each other. Motor brush and brush holder assemblies are also secured to the upper end frame in a novel releasable locking arrangement, in order to provide self compensating adjustment of the brushes relative to a commutator that surrounds the armature assembly.

Le moteur comprend des bâtis d'extrémité inférieur et supérieur avec paliers, un ensemble d'induit monté de façon à pouvoir tourner dans les paliers des bâtis d'extrémité inférieur et supérieur, et un ensemble d'enroulement inducteur appuyé entre les bâtis d'extrémité inférieur et supérieur et entourant l'ensemble d'induit. La méthode comprend les étapes suivantes: introduire un bout de l'ensemble d'induit dans le palier du bâti d'extrémité inférieur, placer l'ensemble d'enroulement inducteur par-dessus l'ensemble d'induit, tout en posant aussi l'ensemble d'enroulement inducteur au-dessus du bâti d'extrémité inférieur, poser le bâti d'extrémité supérieur par-dessus l'ensemble d'enroulement inducteur, tout en plaçant aussi le bout opposé de l'ensemble d'induit dans le palier du bâti d'extrémité supérieur, et assujettir l'un à l'autre le bâti d'extrémité inférieur, l'ensemble d'enroulement inducteur et le bâti d'extrémité supérieur. Les ensembles balais du moteur et porte-balais sont aussi assujettis au bâti d'extrémité supérieur dans un arrangement novateur de verrouillage réversible, de manière à assurer un réglage à autocompensation des balais relativement à un collecteur qui entoure l'ensemble d'induit.
