ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A testing system is disclosed for testing a motor-car performance under conditions simulating travel in a predetermined range of speeds or engine revolutions. A method of measuring and recording parameters of a car's performance is also disclosed, The system enables the parameters of a car's performance to be measured at high speed or high engine revolutions unlike conventional test- ing systems which only measure parameters at moderately low speeds. The system provides two parallel rollers, one provided with a fly- wheel to simulate the mass of a car, adapted to support the wheel of a car, a third roller provided adjacent the two parallel rollers adapted to measure the lateral force and deflection of the car wheel which is indicative of wheel alignment. Means are provided for measuring the rotational speed of the two parallel rollers, and the third roller. Means are also provided for automatically indicating or recording numerical data obtained by such measure- ments or for graphically recording such data or derivatives com- puted from these, the values of this data or derivatives being in- dicative of various values of car performance. A method of mea- suring and recording parameters of a car's performance is also disclosed. The method positions two wheels on the measuring de- vice herein described and measures the desired parameters over a range of car speeds. The measurements are recorded and computed to provide a permanent record of these desired parameters over the range of speeds.
