A garage door opener transmitter is used with a motorcycle. The transmitter is mounted on the motorcycle frame and is connected to the battery. An actuator switch is mounted on the motorcycle and connected to an electric circuit including the actuator terminal of the transmitter unit for applying a pulse to the actuator terminal on actuation of the switch. The transmitter is conveniently a single printed circuit board with four leads for the battery and switch connections. The board is preferably encapsulated against moisture penetration. The printed circuit board may be mounted at any convenient location the motorcycle. It may be a conventional garage door transmitter board with a voltage reducer mounted on theboard for reducing the 12-volt motorcycle battery voltage to the 9-volt or other voltage that is used for the opener transmitter. The switch may be mounted on the motorcycle frame using a ratchet type plastic tie. This allows the switch to bemounted easily at any convenient location on the frame without drilling holes, damaging paint or otherwise modifying the motorcycle.
