A motorized bicycle drive system, comprising an electric motor or internal combustion engine coupled to a power transmission system which in turn transmits power to the wheel of the bicycle by means of a sprocket rigidly attached to the hub and spokes of the bicycle wheel. This system also provides a means for its convenient mounting and removal from the bicycle.
