The mould (6) for aluminothermic welding of metal rails (2) has two components (19, 22) made of identical rigid refractory material and suitable for fitting around two ends (3) of rails to be welded, each component comprising: a lower part having a face (21) defining a mould cavity (25) suitable for enveloping the foot (8) and a core (12) of the ends of said rails, and a channel (38) opening at the bottom into a lower region of the mould cavity and having at the top an opening (39) and an upper part comprising a cooling chamber (32) connected to the mould cavity and capable of containing the heads (14) of said rail ends, the cooling chamber forming a non-compartmentalized volume to which the channel (38) is connected via the opening (39) and which is bounded by an external wall (27) of each mould component.

Le moule (6) pour soudure aluminothermique de rails métalliques (2) comporte deux pièces (19, 22) en matériau réfractaire rigide identiques et aptes à être montées autour de deux abouts (3) de rails à souder, chaque pièce comprenant : - une partie inférieure comportant une face (21) définissant une empreinte de moulage (25), apte à envelopper les abouts au niveau du patin (8) et d'une âme (12) desdits rails, et un conduit (38) débouchant vers le bas dans une zone inférieure de l'empreinte de moulage et présentant vers le haut une ouverture (39) et une partie supérieure comportant une chambre de refroidissement (32) communiquant avec l'empreinte de moulage et apte à contenir les abouts au niveau d'un champignon (14) desdits rails, la chambre de refroidissement formant un volume non compartimenté dans lequel débouche l'ouverture (39) du conduit (38) et délimitée par une paroi externe (27) de chaque pièce du moule.
