A B S T R A C T M O U L D I N G P A S T E A moulding paste, comprising an aqueous dispersed suspension of a fibrous or particulate material, particularly wood fibres, and a water-binding material such as starch, which after a possible dewatering binds the remaining water. The paste can be used for plastic forming by techniques such as extrusion or injection moulding without de-watering occu?ing in the die or nozzle, The Forming is normally carried out at concentration from 10 to 50%, which is a drastic improvement compared to the concentarions of 0.2 to 2.0% used for conventional forming of wood fiber articles as in papermaking. Rigid, hollow articles such as cartons, tubes, paper plates and trays can be made in one manufacturing step - not as ? by conversion of flat sheets.
