MOUNTING ARRANGEMENT IN A ROTARY MACHINE ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A mounting arrangement is provided for the relative radial location of a series of segmental members and a coaxial carrier from which the members project with limited displaceability. To urge the members to an end position of their displaceability they are acted on by resilient means in the form of at least one circumferentially elongate spring that has an arched radial cross-section having a substantially smaller dimension in the direction of said displaceability than the dimension transverse thereto. The arrangement can be employed for a variety of purposes, including labyrinth seals and the accommodation of static clearances.
