This invention deals with a particular mounting device-and its production-for foaming in a foam part made of polyurethane or similar material and serving as a pad for backrests, seating surfaces, and respective areas of car seats. The mounting device allows attachment of a cover onto the foam part. This inventiondispenses with the use of metal inlaid wires in the foam part and uses an easily- produced foam part. The mounting device has a girder section with preferably a coarse meshwork which is at least partially foamed around by polyurethane or similar material before being placed into a mold for the foam part.
