ABSTRACT A device for stretching, transversely, moving strips of material, more particularly paper, has rollers consisting of a plurality of separate sections mounted upon shaft-sections. A two-piece support bearing defining the required degree of curvature is provided for the ends of adjacent shaft- sections of the roller-sections. Individual self-aligning-bearing mounts are provided for each shaft-section end arranged in pairs side-by-side on opposite sides of each support-bearing. Each support-bearing part carries one of the pair of self-aligning-bearing mounts for the adjacent shaft ends.
