In a modular scaffold comprising a multiplicity of vertical posts, the invention provides apparatus for mounting rigid panels to the scaffold. The apparatus comprises a lower rail assembly comprising a plurality of elongate lower rail sections each of which extends horizontally between a different pair of the vertical posts, and comprises mounting means for releasably mounting the lower rail sections to the vertical posts. Each lower rail section comprises means for retaining a lower portion of one of the rigid panels. The apparatus also comprises an upper rail assembly comprising a plurality of elongate upper rail sections each of which extends horizontally between a different pair of the vertical posts and mounting means for releasably mounting the upper rail sections to the vertical posts. Each upper rail sections comprises means for retaining an upper portion of one of the rigid panels.
