ABSTRACT A cathode ray tube for displaying coloured pictures comprising an evacuated envelope, means to generate at least two electron beams, a display screen on a display window which forms a part of the wall of the envelope and a colour selection electrode located at a small distance in front of the display screen. Inwardly projecting studs are located on an upright edge of the window and a frame which supports the colour selection electrode has a side extending parallel to the upright edge of the window. Strip-shaped resilient ele- ments are secured at one end to the frame with their free ends extending away from the supporting frame in the direction of the studs, a lug and an aperture being located in each free end for cooperating with a stud. The lug projects through an aperture in that part of the supporting frame which extends parallel to the upright edge of the window and presses against the inside of this part when the colour selection electrode is not mounted in the cathode ray tube.
