The present invention relates to anti-plaque mouthwash compositions that contain a zinc salt and Triclosan as the anti-plaque system. According to the present invention effective, clear and stable mouthwash compositions with a zinc salt and Triclosan and a humectant system can be obtained with a water level of more than 60% by weight, if the compositions further comprise a surfactant system that comprises a mixture of a nonionic and an anionic surface-active agent. It is essential that the nonionic surface-active agent should be of the type H-(O-CH2CH2)a-(O-CH(CH3)CH2)b-(O- CH2CH2)a-OH and should be present in an amount of from 0.5-3% by weight of the composition. The amount of the anionic surface-active agent in the compositions of the present invention should be such, that the weight ratio of the nonionic to the anionic surface-active agent ranges from 4-35, preferably from 5-20.

L'invention porte sur une composition rince-bouche anti-plaque, renfermant un sel de zinc et du triclosan comme système anti-plaque. Selon l'invention, il est possible d'obtenir des compositions rince-bouche, efficaces, limpides et stables, à base de sel de zinc, de triclosan et d'un humectant, avec une teneur en eau inférieure à 60 % en poids, à la condition que ces compositions renferment également un surfactif comprenant un mélange d'un agent surfactif non ionique et d'un agent surfactif anionique. Il est indispensable que l'agent non ionique soit de type H-(O-CH2CH2)a-(O-CH(CH3)CH2)b-(O-CH2CH2)a-OH, et qu'il soit présent à raison de 0,5-3 % en poids de la composition. La quantité de surfactif anionique dans les compositions de la présente invention doit être telle que le rapport de la masse de l'agent surfactif non ionique sur celle de l'agent surfactif anionique se situe dans une plage de 4-35, et de préférence 5-20.
