ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A movable insulation puncher includes lancing elements which are used to define slots for receiving shear connectors in a multi-layer panel. The lancing elements are heated by gas burners and are moved along a panel on a carriage, and toward a panel by a crank assembly. Return to a neutral position of the lancing elements is spring assisted, and the carriage can be used to store tools, or to support a workman.
