ABSTRACT A door for opening and closing an entry way is in the form of a solar collector having hollow panel structure with a front panel adapted to be exposed to solar energy in one of the open or closed positions of the door to allow solar energy to warm a fluid interiorly of the structure. A hinge structure connected to the hollow panel structure permits movement of that structure between the open and closed positions. Appropriate conduits are connectable with the door and with a use location when the door is in a position to be exposed to solar energy so as to allow heat received by the fluid interiorly of the hollow panel structure to be trans- ferred to the use location from the door. Several embodiments, using for example a plurality of such solar collecting panels are disclosed.
