ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A mobile electricity substation comprises: a movable truck frame, substation equipment carried on the frame, a gener- ator having a prime mover coupled therewith for supplying elec- tric power to said substation equipment during start-up, and a relay unit for detecting whether or not the substation equip- ment has started to supply electric power to a laod. The re- lay unit connects. the generator to said substation equipment when electric power cannot be supplied from the substation. when the substation is capable of supplying power the relay disconnects the generator from the substation equipment and con- nects the substation equipment to the mains supply passing through the substation.
