A system and method for determining a position of a moving platform (100) are provided. The method includes transmitting a carrier signal from one of the moving platform and a stationary platform (150), receiving a received signal at the other of the moving and stationary platforms, deriving a frequency shift between the carrier signal and the received signal, and calculating the apparent closing velocity using the frequency shift and frequency of the carrier signal.

La présente invention concerne un système et un procédé de détermination de la position d'une plate-forme mobile (100). A cet effet, on émet un signal de porteuse depuis la plate-forme mobile ou une plate-forme stationnaire, et on reçoit un signal reçu à l'autre plate-forme. On déduit ensuite un glissement de fréquence entre le signal de porteuse et le signal reçu, et on calcule la vitesse de fermeture apparente sur la base du glissement de fréquence et de la fréquence du signal de porteuse.
