ABSTRACT In a muffler for muffling the noise of exhaust combus- tion gas, having a cylindrical body (1) as well as exhaust gas inlet pipe (2) and outlet pipe (3) both mounted to the cylindrical body, the interior of the muffler body is filled or mounted with accumulated bulky carbon fibers, whereby there can be obtained a strong muffler of light weight, exhibiting a high noise muffling effect and causing no secondary pollution.
