ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE MUFFLER FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE A muffler comprises a plurality of stackable stages 1, 2 and 3. Each stage is comprised of a phase opposition circuit. In each phase opposition circuit exhaust gases are divided into two paths towards an outlet where they are recombined. The difference in length between the two paths equals half a wavelength of a selected frequency.
