A muffler assemby (10) includes an elongated casing (15) having an inlet opening (12), an outlet opening (13), and a partition assembly including a conically converging, perforated, dispersion shell (33) and a transversed wall (45). A perforated retaining shell (17) is provided positioned internally of the casing radially outwardly of the dispersion shell (33). An outer fiberglass layer of material (20) is positioned in the cavity (18) between the casing wall (15) and the retaining shell (17), and an inner ceramic layer of thermally insulating material (21) is positioned in the cavity (18) to thermally insulate the fiberglass layer (20) from the hot exhaust gases.
L'invention concerne un ensemble (10) silencieux qui comporte un logement (15) allongé présentant un orifice (12) d'entrée, un orifice (13) de sortie et un ensemble cloisonnement comprenant une enveloppe (33) de dispersion perforée et convergeant de façon conique et une paroi (45) transversale. Une enveloppe (17) de rétention perforée est placée à l'intérieur du logement radialement à l'extérieur de l'enveloppe (33) de dispersion. Une couche extérieure de matière (20) en fibre de verre est placée dans la cavité (18) située entre la paroi (15) du logement et l'enveloppe (17) de rétention, et une couche intérieure céramique de matière (21) d'isolation thermique est placée dans la cavité (18) pour isoler thermiquement la couche (20) en fibre de verre des gaz d'échappement chauds.
