A multi-axial bone fixation implant (520) includes an elongated member (522), one or more bone anchor assemblies (524), and stabilizer members (526) which are fitted within the elongated member. A bone bolt (540) having cancellous threads on one end and machine threads at the opposing end and an enlarged portion between these sections is also provided. The bone bolt is anchored into a bone via the cancellous thread end. The machine threaded end passes through an opening of the elongated member and the stabilizer, and is engaged by a coupled washer (582) and nut (544). The washer includes an undercut within its oblong aperture, and the nut includes a projecting sleeve. The sleeve is inserted into the washer aperture and expanded, so that the undercut retains the sleeve within the washer without impairing the rotatability or translatability of the nut and washer with respect to each other. When locked by the nut and washer atop the elongated member, the enlarged portion of the bolt is forced against an inside wall of the stabilizer, which is in turn locked against the elongated member. Accordingly, the elongated member is fixed with respect to the bone anchor at one of an infinite number of multi-axial angles.
L'invention concerne un implant de fixation osseux multi-axial (520), comprenant un membre allongé (522), un ou plusieurs ensembles d'ancrage osseux (524), et des membres de stabilisation (526) emboîtés à l'intérieur du membre allongé. Ledit implant comporte également une cheville osseuse (540) dotée de filets spongieux à une extrémité et de filets machine à l'autre extrémité, avec une portion élargie entre ces deux sections. Cette cheville osseuse est ancrée dans l'os par son extrémité dotée de filets spongieux. L'extrémité munie de filets machine passe au travers d'un orifice du membre allongé et du stabilisateur, et elle est fixée par une rondelle (582) et un écrou (544) associé. La rondelle comprend une gorge à l'intérieur de son ouverture oblongue et l'écrou comporte un manchon saillant, qui est inséré dans l'ouverture de la rondelle et étiré, de sorte que la gorge retient le manchon dans la rondelle, sans compromettre l'aptitude à la rotation et à la translation de la rondelle par rapport à l'autre à l'écrou et vice versa. Une fois verrouillée par l'écrou et la rondelle au sommet du membre allongé, la portion élargie de la cheville est forcée en direction d'une paroi intérieure du stabilisateur, qui est à son tour calé contre le membre allongé. Selon l'invention, le membre allongé est fixé par rapport à l'ancrage osseux en formant un angle, parmi un nombre infini d'angles multi-axiaux possibles.
