ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Machine for multi-axial dynamic tests on a large test piece made of metal or of composite material Each axis of the machine consists of a cable securing structure, a steel cable for applying a dynamic test to the test piece, either in tension or in compression, a hydraulic jack for tensioning the cable between one of its ends and a cable releasable mechanism connected to the cable securing structure by means of explosive bolts. The releasable mechanism secures the cable to the cable securing structure before the test and permits the propagation of a loading wave to the test piece, the latter being secured to a bunker. Once the explosive bolts break, a recoil shock absorber prevents the cable to pass in compression after the test piece is broken, some oscillation preventing holders limiting lateral oscillations of the cable.
