ABSTRACT: A multi-channel X-ray detector for use in a device for computer tomography in which an object to be examined is irradiated from different directions by means of a flat, fan-shaped X-ray beam. The locally transmitted radiation is measured and the density distribution of the object is calculated on the basis of the measuring data. The X-ray beam and the X-ray detector together rotate around the object during the examination. The X-ray detector comprises a number of plate-shaped, at least substantially parallel arranged electrodes which are mounted on a supporting plate and which are accommodated in a gastight housing. In order to prevent influencing of the output signals of the detector by vibrations of the equipment, the supporting plates are made of a material which strongly damps vibrations. - 13 -
