FOR: NOVEL MULTI-COLORED DISPLAY ABSTRACT A multi-colored display using an electroluminescent light panel for use in daylight and darkened conditions. An overlay having designated indicia and background areas is positioned upon the panel to allow light to selectively shine through. The indicia areas may be furnished with a first color which is visible in daylight, and also in darkness by energizing the electroluminescent element; the remaining background areas of the overlay may be colored with a transparent second color which is visible during the day or night. A spectrum of colors is also readily available for use in the indicia and background areas to provide a variegated display.
