A pole for supporting a tool includes an elongate body extending along an axis. The elongate body defines a plurality of outwardly facing facets about the axis. The elongate body preferably includes a first tube and a second tube telescopically received within the first tube for adjusting a length of the pole. The two tubes are locked relative to one another by a locking mechanism that is fixedly coupled to the first tube with a detent engaging member that extends from the locking mechanism into engagement with a detent defined by the first tube. The locking mechanism preferably comprises a collet which is threadably coupled to a chuck that defines a plurality of outwardly facing facets. Rotation of the chuck causes the chuck to overlap the detent engaging member and to frictionally clamp the collet against the second tube.
La présente invention a pour objet une rallonge destinée recevoir un outil comportant un corps de forme allongée dans un axe. Le corps allongé présente une pluralité de facettes extérieures. De préférence, le corps de forme allongée inclut un premier tube à l'intérieur duquel s'insère un deuxième tube en assemblage télescopique, ce qui permet de régler la longueur de la rallonge. Les deux tubes sont verrouillés l'un par rapport à l'autre à l'aide d'un mécanisme de verrouillage qui est fixé en permanence au premier tube et comportant un organe qui sert à recevoir un organe saillant du mécanisme de verrouillage et venant en prise avec un ergot solidaire du premier tube. De préférence, le mécanisme de verrouillage comporte un collet fileté qui se visse sur un mandrin de retenue définissant une pluralité de facettes. La rotation du mandrin de retenue a pour effet de chasser le mandrin et de le mettre en prise avec le mécanisme de verrouillage, resserrant ainsi le collet sur le deuxième tube.
