Abstract A button switch apparatus includes a case formed with a plurality of windows, button array adapted to the windows and a switch array including a plurality of switches associated with the buttons. A mark sheet is disposed between the button array and the switch array. The mark sheet has sets of marks recorded thereon indicating respective sets of operating functions. The switch apparatus also includes a mode selecting system for selecting one of a plurality of predetermined modes, each mode determining a specific set of operating functions of the operating buttons. At least one elongated slot formed on an offset manner in the mark sheet permit the operating button to be operated with no contact with the mark sheet. - 1 -
