An easily assembled and disassembled upholstered furniture system for mounting on a substantially horizontal surface. The system comprises first and second spaced apart substantially vertical arm members, each having an inner surface including back and front portions. First and second side support members are affixed to the inner surfaces of the first and second arm members respectively for removably and interchangeably supporting either a seat member or a sleeper unit. First and second support elements are affixed to the back portions of the inner surfaces of the first and second arm members respectively, and a back member is interposed between the first and second spaced apart arm members. The back member includes an outer back part having first and second spaced apart vertical outer back part side members supported on the first and second support elements respectively, and a horizontal outer back part top rail extending between the first and second vertical outer back part side members. An inner back part is provided having first and second spaced apart vertical inner back part side members, and a horizontal inner back part top rail extending between the first and second vertical inner back part side members. A hinge connects the outer back part top rail to the inner back part top rail so as to permit rotation of the inner back part about a horizontal axis parallel to the outer and inner back part top rails. Third and fourth support elements members are affixed to the back portions of the inner surfaces of the first and second arm members respectively. The rotation of the inner back part about the horizontal axis brings the inner back part into contact with the third and fourth support elements thereby adjustably limiting rotation of the inner back part. Fasteners are provided for removably fastening the back member to the first and second arm members, and a front member is interposed between the first and second spaced apart arm members. The front member is removably attached to the inner surfaces of the first and second arm members.
Cette invention concerne une ossature de mobilier rembourré facile à assembler et à désassembler, à être montée sur une surface sensiblement horizontale. Elle comprend deux éléments espacés sensiblement verticaux servant de bras, chaque élément comportant une face intérieure qui formée d'une partie arrière et d'une partie avant. Il est également prévu une partie arrière intérieure ayant à chaque bout une partie latérale verticale intérieure, une traverse supérieure horizontale avant faisant le pont entre les deux parties latérales verticales intérieures de la partie arrière. Les deux traverses supérieures sont articulées l'une à l'autre au moyen d'une charnière afin de permettre la rotation de la partie arrière intérieure autour d'un axe horizontal parallèle aux traverses supérieures extérieures et intérieures de la partie arrière. Un troisième et un quatrième élément support sont fixés aux parties arrière des faces intérieures des deux éléments verticaux servant de bras. € la rotation autour de l'axe horizontal, la partie arrière intérieure touche les troisième et quatrième éléments support, qui matérialisent un autre position limite en rotation de la partie arrière intérieure. Des fixations amovibles servent à fixer non à demeure l'élément arrière entre les deux éléments verticaux servant de bras, et un élément avant est disposé entre lesdits éléments verticaux espacés servant de bras. L'élément avant est fixé non à demeure aux faces intérieures des deux éléments servant de bras.
