A papermaker's fabric, usable in the forming section of a paper machine, has three layers of cross-machine-direction (CD) wefts. The forming layer wefts are grouped into pairs. This twinning of the top-layer wefts results in non- equal spacing in the forming (top) layer. This spacing imparts a desired non- uniformity in the web-supporting surface, thereby reducing diagonal fabric pattern. The forming layer wefts are vertically offset from the middle and wear side layer wefts, which are vertically stacked. This unstacked alignment reduces the caliper of the fabric and lowers the void wefts provide extra stability in the CD.

L'invention concerne une toile de fabrication de papier, pouvant être utilisée dans la section de formation d'une machine à papier, comprenant trois couches de trames sens travers (ST). Les trames de la couche de formation sont regroupées en paires. Ce jumelage des trames de la couche supérieure engendre un espacement non égal dans la couche de formation (supérieure). Cet espacement confère une non-uniformité recherchée dans la surface support de la bande, réduisant ainsi le motif diagonal de la toile. Les trames de la couche de formation sont décalées de manière verticale des trames des couches intermédiaire et du côté de l'usure, empilées de manière verticale. Cet alignement non empilé permet de réduire l'épaisseur de la toile et les trames vides, conférant ainsi une stabilité supplémentaire dans le ST.
