A lighter (2) that can be actuated by at least two different modes of operation, wherein in the first mode, a plunger member (63) is positioned to allow a biasing member (80) to oppose movement of an actuating assembly so that a user ignites the lighter (2) only if a high-actuation-force is applied to the actuator (25) In the second mode, the plunger member (63) is moved to a different position so that the biasing member (80) does not oppose movement of the actuating assembly to the same extent as the first mode so that a user may ignite the lighter (2) if a low-actuation-force is applied to the actuator (25) The lighter (2) includes a pivotal wand assembly (10) associated with the actuating assembly to allow only partial depression of the actuator (25) when the wand assembly (10) is in a closed position. Full depression of the actuator (25) is possible when the wand assembly (10) is partially or fully extended.
L'invention concerne un briquet (2) qui peut être actionné selon au moins deux modes de fonctionnement différents. Ce briquet (2) comprend un ensemble tige pivot (10) avec poussoir de came (116) pour permettre uniquement un enfoncement partiel d'un actionneur (25) lorsque l'ensemble tige (10) est dans une position fermée. L'enfoncement complet de l'actionneur (25) augmente la difficulté lorsque l'ensemble tige (10) est partiellement ou complètement en extension.
