A fiber optic sensor system permits multiple parameters to be sensed using a single sensor. In a described embodiment, a method of sensing multiple parameters is provided in which an interferometric fiber optic sensor is connected to a variable wavelength light source. Light is transmitted from the light source through the sensor, with the light swept over a range of wavelengths to measure relatively low frequency signals, and the light being maintained at a constant wavelength to measure relatively high frequency signals.

L'invention concerne un système de capteur à fibres optiques permettant de détecter des paramètres multiples au moyen d'un seul capteur. Dans un mode de réalisation, un procédé de détection de paramètres multiples consiste à relier un capteur à fibres optiques interférométrique à une source lumineuse à longueur d'ondes variable. De la lumière est transmise à partir de la source lumineuse à travers le capteur, la lumière étant balayée sur une plage de longueurs d'ondes pour mesurer des signaux de fréquence relativement basse et la lumière étant maintenue à une longueur d'ondes constante pour mesurer des signaux de fréquence relativement haute.
